I remember reading or hearing that there is a limitation on the size of the disk size for certain model Computer and shouldn't be more than IDE ATA 80GB
Now I was thinking of getting an extra 120GB drive or an 80GB, and not sure if I remembered right.

This is what I Have:

2.20 Pentium IV
400Mhz System Bus
512-KB L2

D850MV Intel Motherboard

Any ideas that could clear my doubt?

Thanks a lot for your help

Some older BIOS had limitations on the disk size. You will have no problem. Make sure that you are at least at Service Pack 1 with your copy of XP.

Thanks a MILLION bcastner, I do have SP2 and XP Pro, which I failed to mention.

You sure do know EVERYTHING!!!!!!.

Thanks.-

Best Holiday wishes to you.

Yes, older motherboards have IDE controllers that use 24-bit LBA which is limited to 137.4GB. On very old boards (pre-1999), even a BIOS update does not usually help.
