Hi guys,

I little while ago, you sent me a great script to improve my workflow. Now the other thing which is quite tedious in Indesing are tables. I did a tutorial on Table and Cell style for CS3, but somehow is not working right on my document. I don´t know why.

So i went back to the time consuming but sure thing of manually giving cell sizes and color and borders. I have quite a lot of tables to do. This is the example:

I guess my question would be if there any way of improving working with tables from Word in Indesign. I dunno maybe cleaning its styles prior copy+paste from Word or some place in the net that explain better how to do Table and Cell styles. It is so tedious to do fills and so on...

Thanks for any info!

Sebastian

By the way, I am going to the Tutorial Table Styles again.

When i am creating the Paragraph styles for the Cell Style, there seems to be a problem. Here is a picture of the situation

I take the style of the header which is Helvetica Bold Condensed, when I go Option+Click to make it a Paragraph Style everything goes ok, but when i apply it Header to any font, it changes the font to Helvetica Bold (not condensed). The Header is not Based in Any Character or Paragraph Style.

What is wrong here? Usually when Option (or ALT in PC)+Click in Paragraph takes the style and keep it. Is that right?

Thanks for any help!

Cheers,
Sebastian

Check your table and cell styles to make sure that there are no other paragraph styles being applied.

As regards to working with tables. It is tedious work. I've started to get into making video tutorials. And I think this would be a good one to do.

Hopefully I can give you some pointers.

Hi Eugene,

Thanks for your tip!

Let us know when you have your videos it would be great to see experience designer working with tables.

Cheers,
