Anybody know how I go about hosting the DNS for my external domains such as companyname.com ?? on my Win2003 server.

In my experience, you would register external DNS names on the Internet. Once it is registered, then you contact your ISP and ask them to register the records for your domain (MX record, A records, etc).

You wouldn't register your Internet records on your local Windows 2003 DNS server. This is because your internal Windows 2003 server does not replicate with servers on the Internet. So, you can create a forward lookup zone on your local DNS server with the registered domain name (compnayname.com) but these records won't get replicated to the Internet. You need to coordinate with your ISP.

I think you might want to call you ISP. They might have something where they allow you to forward your records to thier database...and then they will forward to the internet. You probably just need to work that out with the ISP.

"SynergyworksHosting.co.uk" you must be a new hosting company...
