OK quick question when you toll deny the ports on voice mail do I have to do it by dn or port (B1/B2)

I've just done it by DN and so far no problems. If you don't use pick codes 1010xx then you can also build a filter blocking 1010 and assign it to the mail DN and the outside lines themselves.
 
Right. Build a filter on the VM DN (if you're using a NAM, you should only have to worry about the B1 DN- the one that is displayed using F985)
