Im getting an advertisment pop up on my server screen which is sent to a few different ip addresses on my server

How do I stop this.

Thanks

is this popup from windows messenger or an IE window?

its like a IE window but without and bars its more like a java script window its just a grey back ground advertisment for diplomas

Thanks

If it is a pop up message from the web then you can download a popup ad killer that will stop those from poping up... CJ

but how does it pop up when IE isnt even open?

Don't know, maybe someone opened IE in the past and that popup just keeps popping up. Do you have any transient programs running?

Have you checked your task manager?

Does it go away when you reboot?

Can you kill it by pressing Alt-F4?

Have you scanned your PC for viruses?

Have you done the dance of the anti-pop-up-thingies? CJ

lol

Well I see tonight I enabled TCPIP filtering and only opened very few ports .
And yes I can close it but sometimes there are 4 or 5 of them each of them tied to a different IP address.
At the top it say stuff like sent to **.**.**8.999 my address.

Thanks
For the input

this sounds like a "net send" message.
Does it say something like "Message from Computername to 'yourip' on date and time"

and then have a message below it and then an ok button?

I have seen a similar problem with a russian website making registry changes and adding a website to the http:// prefix, a quick run with regedit fixed the problem.
