I am adding a few more VOIP extensions to a IPO412 running 5.0. I have created the base extension and user. In the base extension config i go to the VOIP tab and enter the static IP address of the handset. When you boot the phone go thru the DHCP settings (IP,Server,Gateway etc) it reboots and then still prompts for extension and password.

Isn't the reason for entering the VOIP IP address in the tab in manager so you aren't prompted for Extension and PW?

Remove the static, and remove the password. It then will ask only once for the extension number no password needed then.

The Static prevents other phones from connecting to that extension... right? but doesn't it also auto login the extension on first boot?

If not, then the static is just preventing other IPs from connecting to a base extension so there isn't a whole lot of value in entering the IP addy?

Sorry but your better off calling your BP, and getting an Avaya training.

It's an added level of security (as if it where needed) to only allow a specific IP address to connect to that extn it doesn't bypass the usual login procedure. Once logged in it's automatic unless you tick "Force login" :-)

Perhaps you are thinking of Trusted Source for vm collect which allows access to a mailbox without entering vm password?

Use system monitor unless of course you are a Tard then it IS the fault of the pbx.
