Guide Line

I’m fairly new to Flash and apparently not that bright but........

I’ve seen a lot of references to “Guide Lines”. Am I to understand that an object can be made to follow a “guide line”? If so how can I do this?

Thats correct, you can make a symbol follow a guide line or motion path, you can find out how this works by looking at the "lessons" under "help" in the flash program, "Lesson 7 - Tweened Animation, using a motion path" will help you to find out how to use Guide Lines.
