Hi Folks: I am a newbee to Front Page. I am trying to create a guest book following all Front Page default settings. When I post the we.htm then go to the web page and click on the "SUBMIT COMMENTS" button all I get is the famous old "This Page Can Not Be Displayed" thing!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi ABFab,

A URL for the offending page would be helpful.

Just to reiterate, the FP Guestbook defaults are guestlog.htm with the results set to HTML definition list.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal

AMysticWeb: Thank you for your responce. The file FP creates for my site was done using FILE, NEW, Guest Log
the file name is "we.htm" and the assosciated file for comments that are submited is "guestlog.htm".
Here is the URL for my web page. Thanks again for your responce.

Hey ABFab,

First off, you have created a hyperlink to your submit button. This is not how FrontPage forms operate. Everything you need to setup is in form properties, and in the case of Guestbook, always stick to the default settings.

Secondly, you are using guestlog.htm as both your file and optional second file, so FP may be attempting to double post to this page. They could be cancelling each other out. Try eliminating the second file setting.

If the extensions are in place, I would simply use guestlog.htm instead of the absolute URL.

I think the best bet would be to create a new page, with a new Guestbook and do a Save As to replace we.htm

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal

AMysticWeb: I have done that several times now with no luck but here I go again. It still does the same thing! Could it be that the ISP host computer doesn,t support this web page?

Right now, your file is pointing to your C drive.

file:///C:/Documents and Settings/andyh/My Documents/Personal/HTML/guestlog.htm

Try eliminating everything from the file name except guestlog.htm

When changing the file name make sure it changes under the form properties and under File results tab.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal
