Greetings,

I am in the middle of trying to get our Groupwise connector running. This is between Exchange 5.5 SP3 and GroupWise 4.1. Everything was set up in accordance with the User's Guide for the connector (buried in the SP3 files).

All the GW stuff is configured and appears happy. The API gateway is running and we have configured a foreign domain called 'Exchange'.

I then installed the connector in Exchange and started the services. Everything came up and it appears happy, but there is no sign of communication between the two boxes.

I press the button for an immediate directory synchronization, and it acknowledges the request, but nothing ever seems to happen.

What should I be looking for?

Thanks for any help...

Dave

Okay - now I got that portion working (it was the "allow synchronization" checkbox in Groupwise).

Here's the current problem:

We are changing our e-mail naming convention from jsmith@domain.com to john.smith@domain.com

The Groupwise machine contains the jsmith mailboxes, and I have set up a few test mailboxes on the Exchange box that utilize the john.smith nomenclature. It was my hope that mail to john.smith would come into the Groupwise box, fail to find an appropriate mailbox, route through the connector and find the correect mailbox on the Exchange server.

Unfortunately, mail utilizing the new naming convention gets rejected by the Groupwise server and never seems to make it to the Exchange server. I was hoping it would "pass through" Groupwise and successfully find the target mailbox in Exchange.

Any ideas?

Dave
