My main report consists has a record selection formula to select the records I want. I also have a group selection to list only those groups that fail to meet a summary criteria.

I also have a crosstab in report header to provide a summary of data contained in the report.

I noticed that the group selection formula from the main report is not being reflected in the crosstab totals. Is there something I am missing in my crosstab to pick up the group selection. I could not find anything in the crosstab expert.

It appears that crosstabs are sometimes sensitive to group selection and sometimes not, and I have not yet determined what the rule is. I recently created a crosstab where I used a command as the datasource and then used group selection for a subquery based on a parameter. The subquery was based on a field at the row level, not at the group level, and the crosstab summaries responded to the group selection. I had been expecting to have to set up conditional formulas for columns, rows and summaries in order to make it work, but was happy to see it was unnecessary. I wonder also whether a crosstab might work this way if the row field corresponds to the group used in group selection--but I haven't tested this.

Thanks LB,

I was hoping to use one report. I'll go ahead and create a separate summary report for the sake of time and come back to this at a later date.
