I have a small test lab running 2K sp4. I am trying to setup Windows SUS and having some issues with Group Policy. It does not seem to working. I have even tried to remove the "run" command from the workstations on my test setting and it had not done that either. Does anyone have any suggestions to what I am doing wrong. I am new to Group Policy so any help would be GREAT!! Thanks in advance.

I typed in both command on my PDC and got a quick dos prompt, so I am assumming they refreshed. I also went into the registry and changed all the refresh setting to 1 minute. I did a simple change to the group policy (remove help from start bar) and after applying all the above change and rebooting the workstation and allowing a few minute before logging in, I still have the "help" on the start menu. So I do not think my group policies are still not work. Any idea? Thanks again.

Check your application log. If your group policies are not applying, you most likely have userenv errors. Post them here.

Make sure you are using the correct Group Policy Object (GPO). It is possible to go the the Local GPO by typing gpedit.msc into the run dialog box. You need to make sure you are in the Domain GPO. Since you say you're new to policies, you might not have realized the difference. You get their through Active Directory Users and Computers--this is where you set up your user's profiles. Right-click on your domain or OU object and select properties, then select the Group Policy tab.

Be sure you have the permissions set correctly for the group policy object, users/groups must have read and apply rights.

grop policies r not applying on the client nods. i set these on the server2000. plz help me answer me

We also had problems with group policies not working in our organisation.

Sysvol was corrupted on the server, needed to be reinstalled/replaced, also DNS settings have to be changed on each workstation to get GP to work.
