Hello,

I'm using a Group Policy on some of my users to disable the Control Panel, Network Neighborhood, My Computer Properties, and so on. All of these group policies work fine. But I was wondering if there is a group policy that can disable users from deleting or adding any icons to the desktop? So the only icons that they will be able to use are the icons that we setup for them.

Thank you for your help,

What you need is a mandatory profile. A mandatory profile loads the profile and allows the user to add and delete icons, however these changes are not saved. The next time the user logs on, the unchanged mandatory profile is loaded again. You can redirect everyone to the same mandatory profile so everyone will have the same desktop. To avoid the clients ability to "temporarily" add and delete icons in their current session, try playing around with the NTFS permissions in this profile... i.e. make the desktop in the profile read only for the client group.
