Howdy,

I'm trying to use Group Policies to help make installing software at my site a bit easier. I have a Group Policy called "Software Installation" and I've added the installers under Software Installation in the user section of the policy.

I also created a category called "Calone Law Group" which all of the apps have been assigned as a category. Cool beans; I have 4 or 5 of them in there, the only assigned one with auto install is the Shadow Copy Client. The rest are just published and not assigned (I don't want them to go automatically, I'd just like to simplify the process of installing things for now by having them in add remove programs at least).

Well, in Add/Remove programs I have the category "Calone Law Group" however I get the message "No programs are available on the network".

Any thoughts on what the problem might be and how to fix?

...so as the solution to many problems hits many people when they start working on something else, while finding the surface of my desk it occurred to me.

I was applying a user policy over my computer OU. I put the GPO link over the OU with my users and then the problem solved itself.

Now I just need to figure out how to create answer files for Outlook 2003, Word Perfect Office 11, MS Office 2000, and a few other apps.
