Group Policy Implementation

I am in the process of planning, designing and implementing gpo's across our domain. I want to be able to conviently administer gpo's to allow our organization to be defined and locked down as much as possible.

What were some of your planning strategies, and deployment techniques that you guys used? And what if any tips did you learn along the way that may be of importance?
