Group Page work around

We currently have group page set up to work throught the speakerphone of our 6416d+ sets. This has a limit of 32 ext. We are adding additional office space who will be using VOIP soft phones and a few 7400 series. We are currently at max now. 2 Questions.

Will agents on the soft phones hear group page if they are added into the group page? (Provided they have the headset on their head)

Is there a work around to allow more than 32 members into the group page? We have a TN750C announcement board currently but are jumping up to the hour long board. Any ideas?

There is no work around for the 32 extension limit. If you have someone in house who can do the wiring, though, overhead paging equipment is relatively inexpensive. As to the soft phones, I don't know.

Thanks maxg, I didn't think so but it was worth a shot with all the creative problem solving I've seen on the theads.

What is required on the PBX side for the overhead paging system? Where is that set up? And can It work accross a VOIP network? I'm pretty sure it will work but not certain.

overhead paging is done thru a Auxiliary Trunk board using Loudspeaker Paging (look it up in the manual)
Basically someone dails a CPE trunk (customer provided equipment) code and gets connected thru the AUX TRUNK board with a amplifier that connects to speakers thru the building. The output is standard levels that can be connected to any stero amplifier on the market.
Running it thru IP you would need a sondblaster card with a line in, then you need some piece of software to distribute that via IP. Please let me know if the information that was provided is helpfull.
