Group not showing in GAL 1

Hi,

I just created a Security/distribution (I tried both) Group in AD and I gave it an email address.

The group dosen't appear in the GAL but it does show up under All Groups in the "Show Names from the:" drop-down.

Any idea why ?

And what can I do to have my group appear in the GAL ?

Did you force an update to the GAL? Otherwise, just wait and it will show up...it's not immediate.

I'm Certifiable, not certified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

I noticed that Outlook was set to use Exchange in cached mode and I turned that off and I saw my group in the GAL.

How can I force an update ?

To update Outlook Address book. Click on Tools... Send/Recieve.. and dowload address book, check the box "download Changes sinf last Send/recieve", and choose the radio button Full Detail

it seems that RUS was stuck and manually restarting it did not work....restarting the server solved the problem....the old M$ remedy.
