is there a way to set up group DND on a 3904 instead of a 2250 console. I'm wanting to set it to where certain phones do not ring from 8-5, I want calls to go to VM. I know you can set up group DND on a console to where you can just push the button and activate the group DND. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Why not just forward the phones to VM, when you don't want them ringning?

are these internal or external calls

they don't want to forward them because it is a school. They don't trust that the teachers will always forward them, so they (administration) want to do it themselves.

They are for external calls. They still want internal calls to come through.

do you have a 2250 console?

What type of mail do you have? Might be able to do something with applications and time of day tables.

I do not have a 2250 but if thats what I have to do, I will. I would rather not do that so if there is a way to do it with a 3904 would be a life saver. Thanks for your responses!!

how would I set up a restriction for incoming calls with a time of day controller?

If you have Call Pilot, you could set up a time of day block, routing to the extensions between the hours of say 8-10, then to mail from 10-5.

if your using the 2250, then i would use an idc.. when the console is active the day table can send did;s to any number. when the console goes into nights the night table could send them back to the stations.. and that would be just external

Ok. Just found out that this is the dill. This is a school with phones in all classrooms. The customer has a CSE1000. They want between 8-5, all DID calls for classrooms to go to their own VM. (Call Pilot) Anytime before 8am and after 5pm, all DID calls ring the ext. Sorry for any confusion and I appreciate the patience.

So build out those DID numbers as applications, pointing to a T.O.D. table, which then send the calls to VM 8-5, and out to the extensions the rest of the time.

very doable, but the dn's on the sets may have to change. if the did in on the phone.. you can't send it to the tod schedule.. you could use an idc to change the dn inbound, send that idc output to an app (maxp 1 acd ncfw to mail.. then send it to the tod.. or change the dn on the set to another non did and send the did in the same manner to mail tod.. using the 2250 to turn on and off did's via a nite switch would be the least software to build and maintain.

i would use the idc.. for instance turn 1000 to a vacant dn, 2000, maxp 1 2000 to mail and add it as an ext dn to 1000.. so when the consoles in days the stations are non did, in nights they are did's.. another very clean way is to add hospitality software.. that allows blocking did's on all rooms either via a time of day or a console key.. it also has other "motel" options...

thanks for the input guys. I really appreciate it

So let me get this straight....I can do this without using a 2250 console? I'm not as advanced on the M1 platform as I am on the BCM and Norstar platform.
