i am using Access97 in a Novell environment.

how can i put gridlines in my report that will show up both on the screen and also on the printer? what i am looking for is similar to Excel (file/page setup/sheet tab/print gridlines). i don't mean the gridlines that help you align text boxes. i mean the gridlines that let you read across a report with many entries without having to use a ruler.

i can't believe Access doesn't have this function. i have been searching, but i can't find anything.

to get around this, i have been adding lines to my reports manually in design view. so i click on a line, then draw it in between my fields on my report. i end up drawing many lines and then i have to align them. it is time consuming and not the best method. because i set the fields to 'can grow'. so the fields can grow, but the lines don't grow. so i have to figure out how to make the lines grow when the fields in the report grows, or how to show gridlines.

any suggestions?
thanks

try setting the box around your text field to not be transparent and to be a line underneath the textfield and that way it will grow with the textfield

Walt III
SAElukewl@netscape.net
<a href=
