This is just a helpful tip that someone passed along to me. A really great thing to have when using Premiere is the DivX Codec compressor, available on the DivX website. It's free to download. It cuts the export time literally in half, and the movies are far smaller. My last movie that I did was 954 mB, and then only 83 mB when I re-exported with the DivX compressor.

This really helps if you are not running with very much memory, or if you're processor is kind of slow. The movies will play smoothly on your machine at this size.

Hope this helps someone!

Yes, I have done the same thing. Had a 1.73 Gb avi file and compressed it to just under 300Mb's using the DivX compressor. I could then burn it to a CD.
