Graphics in footers - Word 2000/Acrobat 5

Since no one has made an attempt to assist you, I'll give it a shot. I need to know what happens to the graphic when you make your PDF. Is it cut off along with any other text in the footer OR does the text appear but no graphic? I will make a couple samples on my own and report back to this forum my findings.

In my tests, I was able to place a GIF in both the header and footer and turn the doc into a PDF.
I need to know the particulars of your circumstances. Are you using Distiller or PDFWriter to make your final PDF? Are you using Paste to insert the graphic into the footer or are you using Insert>Picture? Are you sizing the picture to remain within the confines of the footer? (I'm guessing you are).
If you are still working on this project, any specific info you can provide will help me to help you.

We are using a gif file that was input into the footer of the document using insert/picture. We did have to resize it to fit within the footer. I'm not sure if it's considered distiller or pdfwriter that we use but it's what Acrobat places in Word (so we're accessing Acrobat from the icons in the menu bar).
(We've done alot of conversions from within Word, all of which had a lot of graphics, although none in the headers/footers, and they all worked fine.)

Is the graphic in the footer the only one that's deleted in the PDF process, in other words, is the footer graphic the only one that doesn't make it onto the page? Also, as a test, have you tried to make a PDF of your document using a different GIF on the footer just to be sure that the problem doesn't lie with your logo graphic?
Another idea I just thought of is, in Word, look at your File>Page Setup>Margins and check that the bottom margins are leaving you room for the footers with the graphic.
I'm throwing ideas at you as a way to spark the problem solving process. It's not my intention to insult your knowledge or intelligence, just to provoke thought. I can't get a clear indication of where the problem lies based upon your description.

I tried two other graphics - one showed up as a black square and the other one showed up correctly. So, obviously there is a problem with my graphic. I'm not sure if it could have something to do with the fact that we created the graphic ourselves. I could send you the graphic if you'd like to try it yourself.
