I just recently bought a ATI-TV Wonder TV tuner and video capture solution for my PC. After installing the ATI-TV Wonder TV tuner card, I get the following error message when I try to watch TV:-------------Unable To Start TV! The TV Player failed to initalize the video. Ensure the correct video drivers have been installed and close any applications which may be playing video such as DVD or WebTV before attempting to restart TV.------------I've checked my video drivers and I didn't have a DVD Player or Web TV playing while trying to watch TV. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled my ATI-TV Wonder TV tuner card software plenty of times and still keep getting the same previous error message.

In addition, ATI-TV Wonder software comes with a system compatibility check feature. After running the system compatibility check, I always fail on the Graphics Chip:ATI RAGE PRO or LT PRO or more recent portion of the check. That's means that I don't have a graphics card that's compatible with my ATI-TV Wonder TV tuner card; however, according to the outside of the box that my TV tuner card came in, ATI-TV Wonder is compatible with all graphics sub-systems supporting overlay, including products from the following manufacturers: ATI, Nvidia, 3dfx, S3. I have a NVIDIA Geforce2 MX/MX 400 Graphics Processor that does support overlay. How come my ATI-TV Wonder TV tuner card doesn't recognize my NVIDIA Geforce2 MX/MX 400 graphics processor? Does my ATI-TV Wonder TV tuner card have to recognize my NVIDIA Geforce2 MX/MX 400 Graphics Processor in order for me to watch TV on my PC?

Which version of the TV Wonder did you get? I just tried out the USB version and that device is a worthless piece of $@#&! First it was incompatible with my nVidia TNT2 M64 video card and would lock up the system, but with a GeForce2 GTS Pro it worked fine (though unbearable video quality).

The PCI VE version I've also got and really like, it's worked flawlessly with my GeForce2 GTS Pro card.

I just received today the TV Wonder PCI full version (in replacement of the USB version), and will try it out shortly.

Have you downloaded version 7.1 of the multi-media center? If not, do that, install it, and see if that helps (there's actually a good number of things wrong with 7.0).

Yup, got my ATI TV Tuner PCI installed and sure as the Pope is Catholic, it did not work with my TNT2 M64. Granted this video card is the absolute bottom of the barrel cheaply made card (it was like $45 over a year ago), so take that into account. I tossed in a Voodoo Banshee AGP card I had laying around and now the TV Tuner works like a charm.

I did too have a problem with which slot I plugged the card into. Because of the motherboard design, the slot I plugged it into first shared the interrupt with a network card, and the network card would not work at all. Typically the motherboard and OS are very good at getting everything to work, even with interrupt sharing, but not in this case. I moved the TV Tuner to another slot and the network card worked again.

Well people, I had the ATI-TV Wonder TV tuner card (PCI version,) and I didn't download the 7.1 version of the multi-media center. Did you notice that I use the word had in my first sentence? It's because I've taken the ATI-TV Wonder TV tuner card back and have something new in its place that I'm having problems with. LOL!

As I close, I will discuss the new subject matter in a new thread.

To those who were concern with my ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 8500DV Card(AGP version) situation,

I want to let you guys know that I couldn't get it to work. After doing some research, I found that my motherboard(M810) was the only type of motherboard that fail the test with the ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 8500DV Card (AGP version), so I concluded that my motherboard wasn't compatible with the ALL-IN-WONDER-RADEON 8500DV Card(AGP version), and I took the card back for any exchange.

I have a radeon 9000 pro graphics card and a ati tv tuner, they told me that the control panel that came with the graphics card was uncombatible with the control panel that came with the tv tuner card...i you play with it you can get them to work together...if you want to know how contact me(acedylene@hotmail.com) but the thing is now that i can't capture video, the system is telling me that the capture drivers are not installed, so i went to the web site to download the drivers to install them, and for some reason they wouldn't install on my computer... Next time i will buy a pinnicle product...Ati drivers suck...oh yea i a m running xp profes....
