I'm stumped,

I have a GeForce 2 MX400 and it has been working great for the last two years. However, recently (and I don't know what I or someone did) my media player will play the first 5 - 30 seconds then crashes (black screen and freeze up). I can't play any games as I get a "Graphics Hardware Initialization Problem" message. I've installed all the recent drivers, DirectX, etc. however nothing seems to work except when I decrease my hardware acceleration settings. The decrease in acceleration allows me to view the movies, albeit at a lower quality, however, my games still won't work.

Any suggestions?
Microsoft XP Professional
Gigabyte GA-7VTXE VIA KT266A AGPset
AMD Athlon 1600
NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX400
256 MB DDRAM

I have also problems with my GeForce 2 card.
I think you should not install the latest drivers. I used older ones and then the card works fine.

Check the forum in guru3d.com (NVIDIA diplay driver/detonator) .
Post'ers there state that the 30.XX series work best with GF2.
