The latest firmware for the Grandstream HT812 and HT814 has broken VLAN tagging.
We have a site with one of each of these, tagged for their respective Voice VLAN's and a week ago they were updated overnight. After that update, they stopped working.
The devices are set static and connected to their WAN port and are in Router mode. I have the LAN port blocked so they don't accidentally plug something into it.
They updated firmware and stopped responding.
I had to set the switch port to UNTAGGED on the voice VLAN and no on all others (HP/Aruba ProCurve).
Once set, the ATA responded and I was able to log into them.
Restarting them didn't resolve the issue.
I had to set the L2 VLAN ID to ZERO and then reboot again to get them to work.
I'm not happy about this as a solution, but it's working.
I've opened a ticket with Grandstream support. They are really slow to respond.
I'm posting here in case someone else has this happen to them, you'll know what to do to get them working again.
