Gradient Hatch and Plotting in 2004

We have a problem plotting gradient hatch in a layout tab when using a viewport. The hatch does not seem to scale to the viewport scale. We can get it to plot in model space without any problems. We are at a loss on this problem. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure about the specifics of the gradient hatch, however, I don't believe hatches respond to viewport scaling at all, which means you'll probably need to set up your viewports and then re-create or edit your hatch pattern to look the way you want.

We found the solution. You have to have the entire viewport in your plot area in order for the gradient hatch to plot out correctly. I don't know why but it works.
