Hi,

I'm in the process of setting up policies on an AD. Just loaded up the GPMC and the Scenarios. All seemed OK with just the policies listed in the management console with nothing activated other than the default hardware policy. However when we tried to log back in we found that the system was locked down completely. Even the command prompt window is disabled???

Does anyone have any ideas how the server can be reset to it's original configuration, or how the policies can be disabled from the recovery console??

A hopeful and very frustrated administrator :)

just what have you locked down?

can't you access mmc in any way at all?
you can login at least?

If you can get into the GPMC then be sure to assign DENY to the Administrator account on your policies.

I hope you find this post helpful.
