Hello, What can I say, I am a bit baffled. I slotted a new Proxy server in place, New name and IP address. Once I was sure it was stable I removed the old proxy and changed the GPO to redirect to the new proxy server. So in user configuration I navigated to Windows settings, IE Maintenance, Connection, Proxy settings and set the new proxy. Done it many times before with no issues. Not this time.

Now all users which log on to a machine do not get the updated proxy info via Group Policy unless they do a couple of restarts. Once the restarts have been done then Internet is available.

Do I need to start thinking about deleting the local user profile created by each user on the Lab computers? Why is the GPO not updateting as it should? It clearly is working but I don't understand the restarts.

Many Thanks,
BigTM.

Run gpupdate /force on both server & client.

Thanks for getting back to me. I wish it was that easy. Tried it, One of the first thinks I attempted. Still no Joy.

It has been days now and both Server and workstations have been restarted. There is no doub that GPO is updating. It seems it happens to users that had loged on to a workstation before the changes were made on the server. A user loging on to a workstation for the first time has no issues at all. Is this of help? If I delete the profiles on a workstation then again all users loging on are OK.

Thanks,
BigTM.

Could I add that due to the 500+ PC on the domain users have been informed to do a restart to clear the problem. I have also set the GPO on the server to force update.

BigTM.
