Im trying to setup a Group Policy that doesn't allow any wallpaper on thier workstation. I just want a plain blue background for all our XP workstations.
I've setup a group policy that doesn't allow them to access the control panel or change display properties.

For some reason, some savy users are able to change the wallpaper. I checked thier workstations and it locked down. So my only guess is that they goto Internet Explorer and right mouse click a picture and say set a default background. How do I prevent any wallpaper be set on to any of my workstation via a group policy.

They can right click on images in a web browser (IE/FF) and set the image as their wallpaper.

In theory, you could push out a reg file that changes the right setting to be blank. Also in theory, you could set permissions on the particular reg key to allow read but not write access. Totally theory, though. YMMV

Under Group Policy go to...

User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Desktop/Active Desktop/Active Desktop Wallpaper.

Setting this will force a specific wallpaper down and prevents the wallpaper from being changed by the user.

Thank you, I create a company logo wallpaper and now forcing that wallpaper to all my workstations via a Group Policy.
