I was wondering if there is a way to disable gpedit for a local user profile on a windows xp machine. I have searched it out with no success so far. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Regular, non-admin users do not have access to the Group Policy Editor.
 
Are you talking about a local Administrator on a local machine?

There might be some clues in this thread, combined with the use of Access Permissions?
