Normally the login prompt screen appears within approx 10 seconds, now a few machines on the network are taking 5-8 minutes to get to the screen (Dynamics is using SQL authentication); after the login, Dynamics has no issues. This started just after the Windows 2000 user names were changed, and outlook 2003 added to all machines, the Dynamics user and password are not the same as the Windows login (not my idea). This is machine related as the users with the issue are able to log into Dynamics 9 on other machines with no slow login. No virus/malware, happens with or without AV client, all machines are virtual clones of each other, patches levels are the same. Had rebuilt one of the machines for other reasons, this cleared up the issue.. but the machines are fairly complicated, not a practical remedy. Turned off "auto complete" and the web page, clearing all temp file folders, did not help, same with GP 9 client software repair or re-install. In taskmanager Dynamics.exe uses just about nil cpu usage until the login page just about appears. Any ideas would be appreciated.

To answer my own question....
It turned out the user profiles needed to be deleted/recreated. Oddly, the dexterity login was the only area affected on most machines.
