Goldmine Newbie needs reading material 1

Hi there,

I am looking for a book which will help me with Goldmine. Its installed, up and running and being used successfully be users but would like to learn more about it.

For example:
- How to use the .ini files and macros,
- Report writing (pref via Crystal I hate the GM report writer and I know it is a cut down version of crystal)
- Optimisation

Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

for GoldMine there is both an Idiot's Guide as well as a For Dummies book. They are actually both pretty good, but the Idiot's guide is a little more detailed. I would also suggest the forums as well as the knowledgebase...

For Crystal- I prefer the team of an Idiot's Guide and Peck's Using Crystal Reports. If nothing else, get Peck's book- I can't live without mine.

To get information on using the .ini files, look for a guy named Dave Petonic. He has a website (goldbox.com?) and sells his add on there. There is a forum that is really helpful with lookups, once you get past him hawking his software. Michael Phipps
