Global change for disabling long distance charge code

We currently have 14 sites all on different model of Nortel Meriden systems (option 11 and 81c's). Currently all requires to put in a charge code in order to make a long distance call. Management wants to disable the the feature now and was trying to see if there was a way to do a global change instead of doing each individual switch at a time.

All system have different NCOS and that was created way back in the day when the systems were put in and does not have all the same numbering NCOS.

Any thoughts or insight would greatly be appreciated.

is your charge code set by the Nortel or is it set by the LEC. This is the first thing you should check.

I would start with AUTH set to NO in your routes.

If it is in your PBX, you would have to hit each one to do this I believe.

Janaya - The charge code is set by LEC.So basiclly I would have to hit every switch and change the AUTH in each of the switches and routes?

Trvlr1 - If it is a must then I guess it is what it is but was hoping there was an easier way instead of hitting each and everyone one of them.

If the code is controlled by the LEC, tell the LEC that you no longer want caller to dial a code to make a call.

The "LEC" means Local Exchange Carrier (The phone line provider) just so we are using the same terms.

Gene is right. If your LEC requires the code just call your account rep and they will take this off. So you get your billing itemized by Auth Code. Not a big deal, but I bet they charge you for the change.
