Hello all:

I have configured a web site on my server and notice 2 folders that exist there:

FOLDER 1:
---------
Folder has no name. If I click on it, it explodes to four other folders, namely:
.%d.lpt2 2.59
.%d.aux 1.56
.%d.com3 3.52
.%d.nul 4.08
If I click on any of the above four folders, I get the following error message:
UNABLE TO ENUMERATE FILES AND DIRECTORIES BECAUSE THE FOLLOWING ERROR OCCURED.
THE SYSTEM CANNOT FIND THE PATH SPECIFIED

FOLDER 2:
---------
Folder is named ~BKT
The folder has no content. Its blank!

The web site has been running for about 5 days but I have not noticed these folders till today.

I am unable to delete these folders. I am on Windows 2000
In the IIS Security, I see a user S.1.5.32.547, whereas in the AD Users and Computers there is no such entry

Is this an OS creation or have I been attacked?

Please help

I've never seen anything like that on any of my servers. You might want to run an anti-virus program or Stinger to see what turns up:

Hi CatPlus

I had a similar thing happen on my FTP server (a folder with no name that expands to infinity - well, close to) and to this day I can't delete it.

I think an anonymous user created it with some script because I wa stupid enough to think that there are genuine FTP users out there.

Hope you find a solution.
