I have just installed Netgear Hub and network cards to my Windows 98 machine. All went well.
I have now connected my laptop running NT4 SP6 and am trying to get the Laptop seen by the Windows 98 PC..

I have set up the correct IP Address on the laptop and can ping both ways between laptop and PC. Both 'Workgroups' are set identically to the name WORKGROUP.

When looking on the PC at Network Neighbourhood I can see the WORKGROUP but only see the PC machine in the list and can see nothing of the Laptop...

Anybody got any ideas why I cannot see the LAPTOP or vice versa.

It may have to do with the fact that its a 98 and an NT Workstation(?)machine...they can be very difficult together. In 98 you have have to enable the file and printer sharing in Network Neiborhood properties...otherwise try doing a "Search for Computers". Or you could try setting a domain instead of workgroup. Just a few thoughts. Let me know if any of this makes sense.
