Strange question...
For whatever reason, when I am editing a form containing a subform, often times when I switch from Form View to Design View, the design of the subform will be blank. And I will have to switch back and forth between Form View and Design View before the subform will show up. I cannot figure why sometimes the subform is there and sometimes it is not!

Am I missing something obvious? Probably, that is usually the case.

If the sub form (frmSub1) is already open elsewere before you open the main form, the subform "frmSub1" will be blank. You must ensure that all forms that contain frmSub1 as a subform and the frmSub1 form are closed first, then when you open the main form you should be able to view frmSub1 and be able to edit the subform.

Hope this helps

Hi,
I am also facing the same problem even the subform is not open elsewhere. It resolves by changing the view to FormView and return to designView. This happens with reports also. I was thinking this is microsoft's .....!!
Will try Duane's suggstion.
Thanks
