I am a programmer with just a few years of experience, but I have learned such languages as Pascal (delphi), SQL, Perl, and HTML. I am currently studying from home with a distance-based college to get my bachelor's degree in computer science.

I would very much like to learn the JDE OneWord development environment and the syntax that is associated with it, but I have no clue where to start. My real question is this: is it possible to purchase a license (perhaps educational, even) of the software, or at least a compiler, without having to work for a company that owns the enterprise software?

Thanks.

Have you tried contacting JDE? Someone there could tell you if such a license (educational) exists.

I have recently started developing in JDE. It is a JDE developed front end that compiles into C code. Really ugly and simplistic. It isn't very hard once you know the basics and where to get info on the built in functions.

Thanks. I haven't tried contacting them, but I'll do that. Right now I'm learning C++, and I already know a good deal of OOP pricinciples, so it might not be as hard as I'm thinking. Appreciate the tip.
