During a move to a new PC, one of our counsels was trying to re-establish her personal folders from a .pst file we made of all her email before the move. From fumbling around and getting the file in the correct place, there are two non working personal folder icons in the folder tree in Outlook that I cannot get rid of - can't right click, can't outright hit delete, nothing. Not a huge issue obviously, but can anyone tell me how to get rid of these?

THANKS!

I've run into this before on Outlook 2K. I had to remove all of the services, close Outlook, open Outlook and then I was able to right click and close the "bad" pst files. Then just re-add all of the services back in and point to the correct pst file.

Hope that helps.

I have also seen this before but my way of correcting it was different.

I removed the entire Outlook profile. Then went into the registy and looked up HKEY_CU\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\windows messaging subsystem and look for any remaining trace of the profile. If there is something still there I delete it and then return to Outlook and rebuild the profile.

Thanks. I had searched the MS knowledge base and only found a way to do it in outlook 98 within the registry, but the keys are different. I'll try these solutions...

Under Outlook 2002, you have to open the mail option in the Control panel. There under the second option ( I think it's data management) it will show a list of personal folders. I had looked there yesterday and only the correct one was listed, but now it showed it and I selected them and clicked remove. Easy as that!
