Getting fields from the Outlook GAL in VB

I am trying to get Phone and Department from our Outlook GAL in a VB program. I'm not sure how to go about it.

I have code in the program that looks up the Name in the GAL and can tell me if it exists or not but I don't know how to access the Phone & Department that I see when I use Outlook to manually look up the Name.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
