I am currently studying for my CCNA and I ran into a problem.
We have a Cisco 1900 switch (12 port with the enterprise software) connected to a NIC card in the back of a WIN2K PC (The NIC card is capable of running full duplex.)
I Configured the switch to full duplex and fast forward port speed, and configured the NIC card to sense full duplex.
But when I put my mouse cursor over the network icon at the bottom right hand corner on the display it always displays 10 Mbs and NOT 20 Mbs. Why is this.
Also, Why won’t the FastEthernet port (A) communicate when plugged into the PC, we have tried both a straight through CAT5 cable and a cross over cable (The cross over cable only has 4 wires)
Hope you can throw some light on this problem
