GETFILE

Does anyone know why the =getfile() command would cause an I/O error? This happens on ONE laptop computer. Never, never, never had this problem before. The problem occurs on one ACER laptop running Windows98 and Fat32. I get the error running an .exe that I created and also if you issue the GETFILE command at the Foxpro 2.6 command window. You can open databases just fine, but if you issue the GETFILE command in the program, it fails.

Does this system have a ZIP drive or CDROM that is defined but isn't always connected? (e.g. Plug and Play) Since FPD (or FPW) never "knew" about this technology, the best way around it is to define a hardware profile without this device and use it whenever they aren't really there.

As a matter of fact, there is an internal CD drive (D, an external USB Floppy (E, and some "REMOVABLE DISK (A in MY COMPUTER.

Not sure how to get rid of the REMOVABLE DISK (A. There definitly isn't a zip drive or anything, unless it was an external device at one point. I'll keep trying.
