Hi all,

I have a weird problem I hope you guys can help me out with. I've been told by some of my end users that once in a while, when they try dialing a phone number, they'll get "number busy" the first time. When they try dialing the number again, the call will go through. They didn't tell me what the phone numbers were, however.

I tried to do some testing on this and was only able to replicate the problem when dialing an 877 number. When I tried local and toll calls (858,619,760), they went through every time.

We have the following setup:

IP500 6.1.12
2 PRI's with 24 licensed channels

I'm not sure if it's an issue with our PRI, a short code or an entry in the ARS table, but I have an entry in the ARS table as follows:

Code: 877N;
TN: 877Nsi
Feature: Dial
LGID: 0

With this entry, the call will go through the first time. but when I try it again a minute later, it'll give me "number busy". I've tried putting an entry in the short code table as well as no entry at all, but I still get the "number busy".

I looked in the monitor and found the following:

75579190mS CMMap: PCG::UnmapBChan pcp[199]b1r0 cp_b f544a924 other_cp_b f59100b8
75579190mS CMMap: a=3.41 b=8.4 M0
75579190mS CMMap: PCG::UnmapBChan pcp[119]b1r0 cp_b f59100b8 other_cp_b 0
75579191mS CMMap: a=21.39 b=0.0 DTMF::AllocateRAS allocated CMRTTonegen resource
busy 6, total 8
75579191mS CMMap: a=21.39 b=1.255 T
75579191mS CMMap: a=21.39 b=8.4 M2

If anyone could help me out with this, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

1st question is why do you have 2 PRI's and only 24 channels in user...

I would check the PRI and make sure even though you have 2 PRIs that you only have 24 channels set for in service and all are set for LG 0.

Thanks NYS.

we only purchased (3) Universal PRI channel licenses. Hence the 24 channels in use.

I have 8 channels on the 1st PRI set to In Service and 16 channels on the 2nd PRI set to In Service. Both are set to LG 0. The unused channels are set to out of service.

Try deleteing the SC you have in ARS for 877 and see if it works.
Usally after the Nsi you send some number you want displayed but I don't see one.
