Get path of file still unopened in folder

By VBA I have found a filename within a known folder, could be .doc file or some other non spreadsheety one. As I am within Excel I wish not to open it but just to capture its filepath.

Any offers?

Isn't filepath = known folder & "\" & filename ?

You're correct but I want the whole shebang from drive to folder without opening the file once checked it is there.

Hi EddyH,

You're not making a whole lot of sense to me. What is wrong with PHV's answer? You have a known folder and a filename; what else do you need? Can you post the code you have and what it is producing compared to what you want.
