I have seen a few questions about *.pst files of
1 or 2 gigabytes in size!!!!

WHY ??!!!

To me this smack of a lack of personal organisation.
Outlook has a archiving facility.
Surely this could be used to save emails on a more regular
basis - say monthly.

Obviously you dont get a lot of email with attachments that are graphically intensive.

I know clients that have perfectly relevant information that they need to keep handy, or very large address books that they constantly use.

You DO know about the ASSUME rule dont you?? Kimber

You stand corrected.
I do (or did when I was a project manager) receive alot
of mail with large attachments (factory mechanical/electrical designs, tecnical specificatons etc in autocad) and sent a lot of my own.

Allowing all your emails to accumalate in one big
file is just plain dumb, and as I say smacks of disorganisation.

In my not so humble opinion, emails should be sorted/grouped and archived on a regular basis into smaller
pst files.

Do you disagree??

I think it depends what you are doing with the files and information, and whether it is most effective to use one method or the other.

I don't critisize anyone until I have walked a mile in their proverbial shoes.

Far be it from me to advise against being organized and clearing clutter. It is not my decision to determine what is best for someone else, unless I am asked.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion thankfully.

Have a great day. Kimber
