Get Computername and Username for network pc's

Hi guru's. A challenge !!!!!!!!
I want to be able to retrieve all computernames and current logged on usernames for all the pc's on our network (approx 30 pc's all running tcpip) and return the info into an excel worksheet. I have no idea how difficult this is or where to start, so if you think I am attempting to get someone else to right the code for me, then you are absolutely right. Not because I am lazy, but because this is almost definately beyond me. I was hoping that someone may take this on as a challenge

One approach is to use WMI.

In word you can use this :
Application.UserName for the User

For the ComputerName look for the good entry in the registry !

Thanks for the help guys. I will take a look at the options you have suggested and see what I can come up with. If I get it working I'll paste the code back here for all to see.

If anyone else comes up with any ideas please keep posting.
