Hello,
We are using CR7 and have 5 reports, each of which use the same dictionary file. 4 of the reports will run but the 5th one generates an error:

General SQL Server Error
click<OK>
Error Detected by Daytabase DLL.

These reports do run on another company's system and they can not explain to us why 4 will run but the 5th won't.
Of course the fifth report is the largest and most important.
I have verified all the tables and columns and have even run the reports on 2 different machines under SQL Server 7 and 2000 with the same results.
As a last result I'm going to install Seagate directly on the database server and try to run the reports there to eliminate the middle tier as the culpret but I fear I will get the same results.

Ideas anyone?
Thanks,
Jim

this is bit complicated issue.you ++mail to me+ at+ gbala@bangalore.imrglobal.com.
i also faced this problem. i can explain it in detail

I running up against this problem also. It seems to be related to memo fields and Nulls and using the Native SQL driver. Using ODBC Drivers running the same report does not give the error.

Have you narrowed/resolved your problem or any suggestions from anybody else?

Thanks

Hello Mike,
As you can see by the date on my post it was quite a ways back and yes we did resolve the problem. If I remember correctly it had to do with a specific .dll in Sql Server 2000. Once we updated that things were fine. The reports were originally developed against Sql Server 7.

Thanks for your response.
Good luck.
