I have just setup 3 new inside phones and their voicemail. In doing so I've messed up the greeting outside calls receive when calling our main number letting you enter an extension. Instead the calls go directly to the general mailbox. Any ideas to what I've done?

I'm still very new to dealing with phones so I'm a lost. Thanks for your help.

If the new mailboxes you've created haven't been initialized the calls will default to Gen Del. You will hear Joan say "This mailbox has not been initialized and cannot accept any messages" before the call goes to Gen Del.

Also if programming lines to ring on other sets besides reception then make sure those phones do not have Forward Busy to voice mail.
If Forward Busy to voice mail (or CFNA) is programmed to go to vmail and they do not have a mailbox then calls go to general mailbox.

Just remember that if the Main Number (external calls) are ringing these new extns that have mailboxes added then the calls will go unto one off them.

Its usually adviseable not to have the main number ring other phones that also have mailboxes with call forward no answer/ call forward on busy to voicemail activated.

Remove the main number line ringing from these new phones.

Set the AA rings to answer lower than FNA on those phones or increase the ring FNA on those sets.

New (unused ports) phones by default are "appear and ring" on lines 1 and 2. Program these phones correctly to stop them them from forwarding to the voice mail.
