As always any help gratefully received.

Have loaded Office 2003.
One user with brand new (Roaming) profile cannot send attachments from directly in MS Excel, i.e. Send as attachment. All that happens is Excel returns the error
"General Mail Failure: Quit Microsoft Excel, restart the Mail system and try again"

No Macros in sheet, justa plain list.

User can create an email and insert attachment by using Outlook, and email sent OK so it appears to be limited to Excel.

Have reinstalled MS Office 2003 on machine. ALl other users can send workbooks as attachments from with excel without problem.

Any help to resolve this would be gratefully received

I would like to give you good news, but the best advice I can give is not to use the mail attachment function within Excel.

I had the same experience and it eventually wiped out my whole MS Office suite.

Just an observation.

I have seen this error occur when outlook was having problems sending emails normally also. The problem in this case was that the outlook .PST file was too large (corrupt), fixing that problem and user was then able to use this feature through Excel no problems.

hope this helps,

A.

Will give the new PST a go but I had to replace her pst a few weeks ago so will be surprised if it needs to be done again.

Will let you know.
If anyone else out there has seen a similar problem, please let me know.
