How does one work out the DB Server RAM GB's Size, the IO Cache RAM GB's Size, the RAID Level and the SMP / MPP # CPU's for ones database? Many Thanks.

Actually, there are few variables to consider in the sizing of the database some of these are;

What type of application/s? DSS? OLTP? Hybrid?
How many users? How large are the transactions?

I am sure there are many out there with inputs on your concern. There has been a thread about this already, you can search that out also.
