I've just recently bought the new GeForce 7800 AGP card, everything is great, with 1 exception...there seems to be a conflict between the Geforce drivers and SoundBlaster Live drivers because certain games would lock up.

I have narrowed it down to this by removing the soundcard, all games works great. Put soundcard back in and reinstall sound drivers, a few games locks up. Mainly Blizzard made games...and Doom 3 has some sound glitches as well. Onboard sound isn't an option...it sucks. I'm about to buy another SB Soundcard, but I don't want to buy one if I'm going to have the same problem.

I seem to remember there was a file for the SoundBlaster that needed to be replaced but this was back in 2002-2003 timeframe.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers for the vid card, and the latest for the SB Live is from 2003.

Sys Spec:
KT880 v2
AMD XP 3200
Corsair PC3200 2GB
Seagate SATA RAID 0 (600GB)
GeForce 7800 AGP
Windows XP Pro w/SP2
SoundBlaster Live

Thanks, I'll give those drivers a try tonight.

The soundcard is installed in the last PCI slot...3 away from the AGP

I posted a problem on which involves a second video card. What I did find is the the SB Live was using the same IRQ as the AiW AGP card. No surprises when the second video card doesn't work, and volume control is invisible. I have tried just about all PCI slots now. Next try is the IRQ allocation set to fixed in BIOS.
