Just got this card and I'm having all sorts of problems. I've installed 3 games, Namely Grand Prix 3, Grand Prix 4 and Rally Championship 2000, and they all freeze just before the game screen comes on. I mean that the games will load, I can go through all the menu's etc, but as soon as I select a track, it loads (according to progress bar) but as the bar reaches it's full position, the game screen fails to come on and the PC freezes EVERY TIME

What am I doing wrong ?
I have a Jetway 663as Ultra mobo, an AMD XP1800 with 512MB ram. I Have installed the latest 4 in 1 drivers.

Thanks

More importantly, perhaps for your issue, is what is the video card and what drivers are you running?
Once you're sure you have the right ones...do start/run/dxdiag and run the tests...usually if all the tests work, things will work reasonably well
(it is WinMe, after all)
It won't ever work right, tho, without the proper video drivers...
Did you mess with the BIOS? Running too large an agp aperture there will cause freezing, too.

Doh, I know what video card...just make sure the drivers are right! (dirty fratterap!)

Don't know where I saw/heard it...just a harmless way of saying "bad words" without doing it...

LOL
Yes. Tried all possibilities in the BIOS. I can now run Colin McRae 2 and Rally Championship 2000 at full graphic spec and it flies without any problems. Grand Pix 4 however still refuses to budge.

What OS? If XP, look in Event Viewer/Applications for clues..XP also has software compatibility mode that may help you.
Any results from dxdiag?
Are these retail versions, or demos?
Here's a link:
They mention a patch for GP4...tried that?
They also have tutorials, if you need them.

Gargouille,

I'm running WinMe
DXDIAG returned 100% success
All games are the FULL versions, not demo's

I have since uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the ones from the Nvidia site, then re-installed the VIA 4 in 1 drivers. The game has now run for over an hour so it may have done the trick

Thanks for the GP4 link
I had been to the official site and they had no patch so I mailed them. Got to wait for 3 days now for an answer.

I'll post back to let you know the results of a couple of hours testing. If it's OK, then I'll maybe do a FAQ on the subject

Thanks again
