Dear All,
thank you very much for your support.
I have realized a internet browser with visual c++. It is all ok until of I link my pc to a LAN. I don't know I can set the gateway (192.0.0.0) in the program. is it possible?
Thank you again,
FRancesco

I don't know if this has anything to do with Your problem but IF it has it could give You a clue to where to look for the reason:
Your access to Internet (WAN) and the LAN: is there a firewall with NAT??? If there are the NAT will translate the IP your browser see to 192.0.0.0 and vice-versa.
This could be the problem: Your browser sends out a "Well, send the page to 192.0.0.0" while You really are on another IP....
This is amongst others giving problems for the file-share program "Direct Connect" and therefor You has to supply the IP manually.
The IP 192.0.0.0 (at least the last three zeros) shows me that You are located behind a hardware firewall. Totte

Thank you very much,
I'll try to explain my problem better. When I work with my pc and I'm not inside the LAN it's all Ok. If I connect my pc into the LAN (there is a router) and I change the gateway in my TCP/IP propriety it is Ok, after I switch off and restart it. I would like to know if when I run the program it is automatically connected to the lan at ip 198.162.1.22 (router address).
to surf inside the web, by the lan I should use the router address. my problem is this.
Sorry for my confusion, but it's difficult for me to understand the problem well, and more difficult to tell you.
Thank you again,
Francesco

Perhaps it will work, But according to the Netmask specifications it is not allowed:
1. All Host bits are set, because that is the Broadcastaddress.
2. All Host bits are clear, because that is equal to the Networkmask.
